A Television Set is a product we have all grown up with. We watched in fascination as the technology grew, from Monochrome to Colour and Beyond and we grew along with it. Sony, always the leader in this technology steered its growth with its Trinitron Tube (of which over 280 Million were sold), then to the Flat Screen WEGA TV and now to the BRAVIA.

Like the Rotary Dial Telephone and the 3.5" Floppy Disc, the era of the Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Television has also drawn to a close. In 2007, Sony had announced that it would no longer market or sell CRT TVs in the USA or Canada, but would continue to sell them in China, India, and regions of South America and Africa. CRT production at Sony factories ceased earlier this year, and new stocks of SONY CRT Televisions are no longer available.

In its place has come the BRAVIA Family of LCD televisions which offer an unrivalled range of models to choose from in sizes from 19" to 70". The price point of a 20" BRAVIA LCD is today lower than the price point of a 20" CRT TV when it was launched. A Bravia today is just as affordable as a Deep Freezer or a good mobile phone.
